Stripped of happiness from their childhood, they are forced into stringent work environments, deprived of education, and subjected to emotional and physical abuse. Their days are filled with exhaustion, fear, and pain, as they toil in hazardous conditions with little to no hope for a brighter future.

Imagine their state of mind. When they should be enjoying their innocence, playing games, dreaming, and building their future, they are forced into labor, giving up their education, dreams, health, and childhood. This precious phase of life, once gone, cannot be reclaimed, and instead, it is lost in factories, households, or fields.

Those little hands that should be holding toys and books are instead burdened with shovels and heavy loads, robbing them of their childhood and the joy it should bring. It leaves lifelong scars on them!

These children also suffer from malnutrition, lack of proper healthcare, and psychological trauma, leaving deep scars that last a lifetime. Society’s failure to protect them not only crushes their dreams but also perpetuates a cycle of poverty and despair.

Free Education Centers: Empowering Children through Learning

One of the core initiatives we’ve undertaken is the establishment of free education centers in the evenings. These centers are strategically located in areas where children face significant barriers to education, primarily due to parental restrictions. People usually in slum areas or belonging to economically weaker sections, do not allow their children to get their necessities fulfilled. These children are their source of living, so they are either meant for begging or low-wage earnings.

Youth Veerangnayen provides support to these children. Our approach goes beyond traditional academics. We focus on their overall development and provide holistic development opportunities that include:

Free Education

Those children deprived of education get their basic necessities fulfilled by visiting our free education centers. These centers provide them free access to education and learning.

Practical Life Skills

These children also lack practical life skills. To cultivate the basic habits, they are taught essential life skills such as personal hygiene, and guiding them to adopt a good lifestyle. Their mental grooming is also done to become better human beings.

Celebrating Festivals

Children from economically-weaker backgrounds, have not ever celebrated festivals in their lives. We as a team, introduce them to cultural and religious festivals to foster a sense of community and tradition. The essentials of celebrations are provided to them such as colors for Holi celebrations, crackers & sweets on Diwali, etc. for better celebrations, ensuring that they enjoy it to the fullest. Each festival is celebrated with them to help them get acquainted with our culture and enjoy those dreams which otherwise were unfulfilled.

We encourage overall growth through activities that build confidence and social skills. They are acquainted with those skills which are not even taught at schools or by parents.  

Motivating Shopkeepers: A Community-Wide Effort

To tackle child labor effectively, we engage with local shopkeepers and businesses. Our purpose remains to motivate shopkeepers not to hire children there. Through motivational campaigns and awareness programs, we emphasize the importance of child rights and encourage shop owners to commit to and sign pledges to ensure they do not employ children in their establishments.

Also, we paste awareness posters to display the highlights of child labor’s detrimental effects and thereby, promote the welfare of children.

Providing Free Stationery and Books

Education is a powerful tool for change, and we strive to make it accessible to all children. To support this, we ensure that every child has the necessary tools to learn without financial barriers. For this, we provide them with educational materials and this way, enrich their learning experience and facilitate their academic growth.
